Minority Community record success in Civil Services, selection of 131 Candidates

During 2017-18, the Candidates of the total 105 Minority Community were provided financial assistance under the scheme.


 Of the 990 candidates selected in Civil Services, records belong to 131 Minority Communities. This information has been provided by the Minority Affairs Ministry. He says that out of 131 Minority Candidates who are selected in Civil Services this year, 51 are Muslim Candidates.

Let us tell that 126 candidates, including 10 of the 1099 who were selected in civil services, were from the Minority Community last year. Officials have informed that the amount of financial assistance received from the students clearing the UPSC Pre Examination through the 'New Flight' and 'New Savera' scheme last year was increased from 50 thousand to 1 rupee. During 2017-18, the Candidates of the total 105 Minority Community were provided financial assistance under the scheme.

In addition to the financial help, the ministry is working cooperatively with many institutions to give coaching to the UPSC and Minority students preparing for the second exam. Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said, "We are trying to bring the talent of Minority community everywhere." Naqvi has said that 6 Muslim candidates, including 3 women, have been selected in the top 100 this year. This is the first time since Independence that when the UPSC examinations are selected, 131 candidates are selected from Minority.
